The Fronius Irradiance Sensor measures the solar radiation intensity for use with the Fronius Sensor Card / Box and the Datamanager. This sensor is in most cases fixed on the frame of the solar module, so it is in the same plane and exposed to the same radiation level as the panels. Comparison of the irradiated power to that of the inverter gives a rapid overview on the proper operation of the pv-system.
