A press kit issued to promote the release of The Beatles third single ‘From Me To You’ which was released on 12th April 1963 with the catalogue number R5015. The press kit consists of a card cover that shows an image of The Beatles taken by Les Chadwick. Les was working for Peter Kaye photography onboard the ship the Salvor that was moored at Albert Dock Liverpool, England in late September 1962. Above the picture there is a quote from BBC radio disc jockey Brian Matthew. There are a further six pages that consist of a collage of Beatles press cuttings, a ‘From Me To You’ pre-release quote from Brian Matthew, an information sheet listing the release of the single, an information sheet detailing the forthcoming release of The Beatles debut album ‘Please Please Me’, a Beatles summer tour schedule and a sheet detailing The Beatles record releases and contacts for the group’s management and representation. Provenance: from the collection of Cavern Club compère, Bob Wooler. Bob was a pivotal figure in the Merseyside music scene of the early sixties. He introduced The Beatles many times during their 292 appearances at The Cavern and was a great ambassador for the group. The press kit measures 21.5cm x 28cm (8.5 inches x 11 inches). The press kit is complete but the front cover has never been stapled to the other pages. The condition is excellent.
