Description Brass check valves minimize the development of reverse flow that may damage pumps. It restricts flow to only one direction (spring return to close). It has a compact and robust plastic design and is useful, where a height differential exists between the pump and the water source. It is suitable for hot or cold water and is an inexpensive way to make sure that a single centrifugal pump is primed every time it cycles. It can be can be installed in any orientation, but direction of flow is specific. When installed with a filter screen it can be used as a foot valve. Sealing threads should be joined with Teflon thread tape or an appropriate sealing compound.
